Gods and Goddesses of Ancient Greece
The ancient Greek people were polytheistic. They believed in many gods and goddesses, but the major ones like on top of Mount Olympus. Mount Olympus is the highest mountain in Greece. In their myths, the gods and goddesses would intervene in peoples day to day lives. Also, myths were used to teach lessons and explain what they didn’t know and for natural occurrences. For the Greek people, the gods and goddesses had the image of humans.
The king of gods was Zeus and he would use his thunderbolts to release his anger. When there was thunder and lightning, the ancient Greek people thought Zeus was releasing his anger.
